..is never easy. In fact, a godly leader is one who is humble, faithful, close to God and forgiving - one like Moses in the Bible. Although leading the Israelites was tough and at times lonely (Numbers 12:1-16), Moses knew who was on his side -God Himself. And knowing that God is on our side as leaders is important because it determines how we respond to circumstances and situations that we do not favour. I like how Paul wrote to Timothy when he said "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind" (1 Timothy 1:7).
Moreover, I've learned that leaders do not stand on their own. We, as members, play important roles in supporting our leaders in their faithfulness and effectiveness. In fact, we are called to submit to our leaders (Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 2: 13-17). Rather than turning to gossip when issues arise, how different would situations turn out to be if we would just turn to God in prayer for our leaders instead? I believe they would be very different.
