How often do we struggle when we do not get what we want? For me, there were countless times. Some involved smaller matters like going over to a friend's place while others involved larger matters like choosing a college to go to. Both the smaller and larger matters share something in common - disappointment. However, there were no regrets beyond that disappointment. Have you ever came to a point whereby you were eternally grateful for not settling for what you wanted when you discovered its consequences? I did, many times in fact.
Beyond each disappointment, I experienced God's unfailing love. We are short-sighted but I am eternally thankful that I have an Abba Father who is far-sighted. Disappointment may settle in for a while when I did not get what I wanted but I am saved from an eternal heartache with what were, very bad decisions. I came to a realization of how much He loves me and you. The best part is He doesn't leave us hanging with disappointment. He points us to what He knows is best for you and I. And I can tell you from experience that I have not regretted a second of following God. He has given me more than what I wanted - He gave me what I needed, which I believe, is what He desires for you as well. =)
